About Me
My training has at its core a person centred philosophy, which means that I listen without judgement and believe that every person has the ability to grow. Together we will strive to find the answers that you hold within yourself. I believe that clients themselves are constantly evolving and adapting, feeding from past experience and present stimulation.
Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety or depression, or you may have gone through a life event that has set you adrift. You may be in pain or you may be curious to look deeper within yourself and work out the jigsaw that is “you”. I believe that loss is central to many of our issues. It can be loss in the most extreme way through bereavement but it may also be loss in a more general way : the loss of our identity or purpose. I help my clients to adjust to change - indeed to see change as inevitable and to embrace the growth opportunities it presents.
In addition to seeing clients privately, I have been working at a large GP practice in SW London for a number of years, and have benefitted gaining experience in effective short term therapy for a number of issues.

Brigitte's Client Testimonials
"I came to counselling at a major turning point in my life. I thought the counsellor would act like an advisor and provide me with answers. That didn’t happen, but what did was better: it was a growth experience for myself and through being able to understand myself better I was able to find the answers myself and feel that I was making informed choices."
Client X
"After losing my life partner I was debilitated by grief. Being able to share my grief in an unashamed manner was cathartic. Counselling not only helped me find a way of living with my loss but also, very importantly, of embracing life."
