About me
Hello, I'm Olivia and I am a qualified BACP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor.
As a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor, I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe that every individual has the capacity for personal growth, self-acceptance, and autonomy, and I strive to facilitate this process through empathic and compassionate presence.
I offer my clients a confidential and respectful environment to explore and develop self-awareness, self-growth, healing and self-responsibility, which can help you lead a more fulfilling life that aligns with your belief system. I will work with you to bring awareness and understanding to your unique experience with the world around you.
I work relationally and my work is underpinned by three humanistic theoretical frameworks: Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. Having a foundation with these frameworks allows me to shape the therapy to the individual needs of each of my clients. Together, we can work to develop your self-awareness, explore repetitive patterns or relationships and explore what is causing you distress, in a safe and confidential space.
As an anti-oppressive practitioner, I am committed to recognising and challenging the systemic power imbalances that can affect our lives. I believe that social and cultural norms can often reinforce oppressive structures, leading to marginalisation, discrimination, and inequality. I prioritise creating a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, diverse, and respectful of all individuals, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences.
